The presidential elections in Argentina are approaching. By the end of June Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has finally loosed its reservation announcing the decision to run on October 23rd for the Casa Rosada, ticketing with her Minister of Economy, Amado Boudou, who will be running for Vice President.
Favored in all polls, the outgoing President will challenge a fragmented and divided oppositions.

ECONOMIC REPORT: JUNE 2011

Good news on the economic sector. The INDEC confirms the upward trend of the country: Argentina's economic activity grew by 7.8% in March (on a yearly basis), while in the first quarter there is a trend of 8.6%; the industrial production, in April has grown by 8%.
The Ministery of Industry has released data on disbursements from the Bicentennial Fund: in just eight months 153 projects for about $ 800 million: the recipients have been financed of 60% were SMEs.
Another 700 million US dollars for 135 more projects remain to be allocated. Debora Giorgi, the Minister of Industry has stated that: "This tool, direct financed by the Banco Central, works as a Development Bank" and it is addressed to all the national business sector.
